So I got my trans all installed and my rebuilt driveshaft is an inch too long. Oh well it works in 4wd anyways.

How much room do you have till the shaft is fully collapsed? When I did the nv4500 conversion in my pile, I re used the rear shaft, even though everything was moved back. IIRC, it had just 2" left, and with the suspension fully bottomed out, still had 1" left...I may have it shortened an inch or so, but it works for now.

Fully collapsed it would fit exactly between the tcase and rear end. But it won't go in like that and it would have no movement with the suspension.

I've decided I'll get a new rear shaft made for mine and get the rear shaft shortened to fit the front since the plan is an nv5600 swap

Man that weather sucks. It's unseasonably warm in most of Alberta. Unfortunately this caused a good buildup of wet, heavy snow on the roof of our deck. My dad was trying to dislodge it, and when it went it pushed him off the deck onto the ground. He's alright, just bruised and in a lot of pain

Anybody have a set of very large injectors they would like to temporarily loan me for a dyno day in mid may? I was going to bottom my fuel screw again to see what it puts out with the twins, but I was talking to my buddy that is organizing it and he wants me to go on the dyno 1st. So I thought WTH, lets show the duramax guys what a real truck does. So far all I can see showing up is 1 green dodge and about 30 chevys.

Eh, thats ok Pete, we know its what is under the hood that counts

So this Rag I've been digging into, I just saw the input shaft has pitting on the seal surface...it just keeps getting worse. Contemplating having the shop lathe it down and then press a sleeve on.

Considering a Duramax can put up a toasty 550 with a big tune, fuel system, and a built trans... I wish you luck.

If things are like they are around here, you'll have a lot of kids with cheap tuners that go home scratching their heads.
