So I thought WTH, lets show the duramax guys what a real truck does. So far all I can see showing up is 1 green dodge and about 30 chevys.

if i ever get my 1stgen back, you can borrow mine. i dont know if they would be considered very large, but they run good. be nice to see what they would do with a set of twins, as im considering keeping the truck now.

-11 degrees out. Dad's 7.3L, plugged in over night- no start. My Dodge, not plugged in- fired right up!

It's a bitter sweet victory though since I'll have to do a block heater on a 7.3L soon.

Good luck to you this morning Ike!!!!!

Why do a block heater. Its a ford. If it won't start it can't break itself.

Does anyone else have the issue that if anything is wrong with your head (cold, sinus issues, EAR PLUGGED) that you instantaneously have your IQ drop about 80 points.

I'm completely flippin worthless today. I'm talking like I can't carry on a conversation, I can't see colors right... all because I have an ear wax (or whatever) issue and I feel like I have water in my ear... CAN'T HEAR A FLIPPIN THING.....

I'm pretty sure if I dropped 80 iq points I'd be in the negatives.

Eric, I know the feeling. Been battling sinus infections and crap for the last three months. Went to the doctor a while back because my nose was plugged bad enough that I couldn't clear it, she suggested a nasal rinse....kind of worked, but pushed fluid into my right middle ear...damn near deaf in that ear for almost a month. So I go to another doctor, she sticks a camera up my schnoz, come to find out, I got a damn polyp in there, blocking the eustacian tube, so my middle ear won't drain. A CT scan and two appoinents later, I go in for surgery on February 14th, as the damn thing is into my cheek sinus cavity. I get my left wisdom teeth pulled on February 12th...gonna have to take ten or so day off to recover from the teeth pulling and the snot box surgery. Hooray for me!!!

On another note, my pile started this morning, only 8 psi of fuel pressure and a heavy miss...I quickly scramble to put the tires on my VW (took the wheels and new tires to work last night so I could mount and balance them), so I had a backup. 15 minutes later, fuel pressure is down to 6 psi, and still missing...its got some heat into it so I wind it up to 2500 rpms, it clears its throat and runs ok. I chance it and it runs great all the way to town. Fuel pressure came back up to 9 psi, but no higher...

So, the company is putting "big brother" (GPS tracking) in all of the fleet, and I had to work out of one of our other locations last night. Long story short, the only trucks that had issues were the 7.3 Fords and Internationals that weren't plugged in. One of the gems of the fleet, a semi retired 1994 International was stone dead with frozen batteries. Swap some nice new warm batteries in it and it cranks to life. Cool. And not so much. It chugs and dies after about two minutes of running. I mess around with it for a few minutes and remember that there is a small fuel strainer at the back of the fuel filter housing...HOLY BOOGER SNOT!!!! It's full of mush. Clean it out twice and it runs the rest of the night without a problem.

Here is a nice shot of the strainer ;)

I know the 'maxs run real strong and I probably won't beat most of them, but I just want to let them know they ain't all that ya know?

Chris, did you let a family member borrow your truck? What size are they?

RC, I was telling the other techs this morning, every time I go thru the door to the office at work I feel like I lost 300 IQ points. Damn do they do stupid Shit!

Ike, hope it goes well for you! FYI, If you need to take a company truck for a donut run, just cover the antenna with a couple layers of tinfoil. ;)

I'm pretty sure there's a chassis dyno at my college. I'd like to get my 4th gen on the rollers sometime just so I can say yeah it makes this many horsepowers. Should be close to the 500hp mark on the max effort tune
