So just got home from a day trip roaming lower Michigan scooping up parts for my various projects. Other than the small pond I found this am on the pass floor I addressed in another post, had a weird issue that cropped up again. While cruising down the road, cruise set at 60, engine just shut off. Its done it before, not sure why. I tried the accelerator pedal, still set down like cruise was on, I pushed the clutch in, engine came back and away we went.

Thinking the vss connection is loose or bad connection. Its random, not constant reason why, just doesn't it now and them.

Was happy to see 20.5mpg 8)

A bad VSS connection will not kill the engine. A bad connection at the FSS will. Replace the wire terminal on the FSS wire.

Oops, meant FSS connection, guess even proof reading doesn't help

I formally accepted my job at Cat yesterday. I'll miss the side dressing, spraying, and hay work that is farming in the summer, but Cat pays better and it could turn into a fulltime job. It's still only 10 minutes from the house. Can't complain about that 8)

Thanks Ellis.

Fortunately, you all have prepared me for any and all hassling that could occur, given my affection for Navistar powered Fords

Fords are terrible. That sounds like it'll be a good job though Caleb. From what I've heard people that work at cat end up going cat crazy.

On another note jaegers gauges came in yesterday after nearly 2 weeks in transit

I don't know what all that means. I pretty much refuse to do any mechanic work in a professional context unless it's short term, a jump in pay, and on the way up the ladder. Outside of work, I'm the designated mechanic for a large pool of friends and family. There's no way I'd wrench for 8 hours only to come home and do the same for a few more hours

I fixed it. I meant to say cat crazy, but wasn't looking at my phone while I was typing.

And I put the pillar with gauges (though they're not connected to anything) in jaeger. It's much easier to do than the partial pods our first gens have
