Just finishing up another motor build for a guy. I'm pretty sure I lost a year of my life from the anger this one has caused me. After having the last shop put the motor together three times it made it's way to me knocking. Long story short, some people should sell their tools and save people from their work. This thing has been one thing after another. Starter bolts stripped their answer: slap some rtv on them and push the two stripped ones back in the holes. Oh turbo oil feed line fitting stripped, throw some rtv on it and glue it on the stripped hole. Wires, yeah they are fine rubbing on the intermediate steering shaft. Or how about putting the intercooler hose clamps so they rub a hole in the radiator hose. No need to put all the bell housing bolts in, or tighten all the pressure plate bolts. It goes on and on. Doing a motor job is enough work without having to fix other people's cob jobs.

But it will run so well when you get done with it Tom!

What the heck, only a few new posts today? Everybody must be enjoying the weather!
It's been 1 of those days for me, put in the new window seals on the drivers door and the window stuck and came out of the rotted track. Great, something else to fix before I go west, wtf?

Today was enjoyable!

0330. Kid is screeching. I don't know what happened.
0430. Kid is still awake and I head to work
0500. Start work. Then it gets interesting.
0643. Get toned out for a single vehicle rollover, occupant ejected. Location: tollway
0650. Ambulance rolls out
0652. Truck, with me, rolls out
0658 ambulance finds accident, 2 patients, both ejected
0700 arrive on scene
0706 helicopter called

Both were drunk off their asses. We didn't get back until 9am to the station. Took the next hour and half to sanitize and clean equipment. Then write the report. I had sweat enough that my shirt was like a wet rag. It'll be a damned miracle if the guy who was flown from the scene makes it. It wasn't good at all.

I was enjoying the weather, hauled a backhoe for the landlord, returned it to his buddy. Then spent the rest of the day working on the M37, until the gf got off a 12hr shift. Went putt putt golfing and got ice cream, then back to the M37. One these days I'll finish that damn thing

I've been working on bikes and go carts for the last two days. I picked up a little china 70 series ATV for my daughter yesterday for $50. I cleaned the carb today on it but still need to get a chain and battery. We also got the 400ex back together and my brother isn't happy the polaris hangs with it so well. From a roll he gets 2links on me but from a dead stop he can't touch me. :D

Truth be known I've spent way more time with green machines than red ones.

I just like my 460 because it's mine... and I think it out performs a 630 Deere, which is a pretty fair comparison.

I used a blue one to make hay with yesterday. :D Cross my fingers my small square baler (NH68) is finally working great again. I did a small field and it didn't miss a single bale. It only took a couple years of tweaking and fine tuning and a couple thousand small squares. :o On the other hand, its over twice my age and cost me less than a grand, so not to bad. :D

I did very little on the weekend. Full on nothing on Saturday then flashed a new tune on jaeger Sunday followed by mowing one of our fields with our bigger lawn tractor (54" deck husky) that only took like an hour and a half, but the grass was as high as the front tires in places, and the open differential on that thing is ridiculous. It'll get stuck pretty much anywhere
