Sounds good Eric. I'm stopped for the night in rapid city. Based on my time last year it's about 11 hours from here to Missoula, and 3ish hours from Missoula to spirit lake.

On another note here's the second time I caught up to Andrews truck today (1st time was about 20 miles onto i70. Then I stopped for food and fuel, and he got by) I'll post the other pics I got from sop in the roll call thread

I think tomorrow evening is highly possible. There's 2 time zone changes, so if I take off around 9 here will put me there 7:30-9ish.

3800 gov spring, stiffer afc spring, and pump gasket kit is what I was wanting

I have all that here. I have to double check if I'm out of the 354, or the 374 springs.

Awesome. Do you also happen to have those 1/2" t3 spacers in the divided variety? The one I have on The Roo Hunter is undivided (got it before I knew how much the twin scroll effect helped) and last time I looked at ordering one shipping would've been twice the price of the part

Put trans on scanner (Garmon's was mia today.....him and the shop).

Target and actual gov pressure is pretty solid........target seems abnormal. It jumps way up after a shift sometimes (into 3rd) and other times it stays the same. Not sure what the ecm gets its info from to figure out target.......

Also......at 20% throttle or less, it won't shift into 3rd until 28mph. From 20%-38% it shifts very softly and shifts into 3rd at 23mph.

Points to truck if you ask me.

Check the APPS output with a meter, an analog, not a digital. If you go slow with it if there is a gap or it jumps it will show with the needle. A digital meter won't show it.

Depending on scan tool if it has the graphing multimeter you can use it. We had a snap on graphing multimeter and I like it.

According to the Scanner, the apps is happy, not fluctuating, etc....... Neither are the other 2 "pedal position sensors", though they are slightly lower than the pedal itself.

Only thing that seems to not be rock steady is the governor pressure voltage. I have no idea what that reads off or controls.

For example............in 4th gear and locked up.........these trucks command 126.70 gov pressure, which the truck can't build. At a sustained throttle in this circumstance, the actual will randomly vary from like 75 to 99 (odd right). And the voltage will drop and go up the same.

I notice the voltage constantly doing that, but within a "range" if you will. I am trying to see what that voltage shows, etc...and how steady it should be.

Replace/check the output speed sensor. I assume the scan tool only reads what the transducer is. I would put an actual gauge on the gov port and verify that the actual and what the transducer is reading is the same. I could be wrong on that because I've never had a scan tool. I always checked with a gauge.

Another thought. Does that have the electronic tv actuator? Might make sure that is working right.

As I understand it in my 47RE, which I think isn't much different, the governor pressure sensor reads the pressure controlled by the governor solenoid. It also reads the oil temperature. On the 47RE, the cover the solenoid goes into is known to flex and leak oil back into the pan causing a loss of pressure.

Out put sensor is reading correctly.

TVA actuator I haven't replaced. It is not new with trans...... a lot of me wants to point to this. It really is only a 2-3 shift issue, that when light throttle is given, it holds 2nd gear really long.

I can literally be at 18% throttle at 28mph (or even 25mph) give it throttle and it up shifts. 20-30% or so throttle and it shifts really early and very soft. The 1-2 shift is at 15mph......always, unless I'm past 30% throttle.

It probably is the tv actuator.

Found a deal locally for a set of 4-2" alum wheel spacers, 8x6.5" bolt pattern, but they have 9/16" studs. I'd rather not swap wheel studs in my dually, but wondered if I couldn't swap the studs in the adapters and machine the counterbores to accept a 5/8" acorn nut.
Any thoughts, good or bad? Thought with the spacers I could run 265/75 which are easier and cheaper to locate around my area.

Edit: Nevermind, guy sold them before I could get a chance to go check em out. Sometimes this night shift gig gets in the way of deals
