What mags do you use? They should have bit of spring tension on the slide stop when they run empty so they should kinda "shoot" out. Some mags won't do that though, my brother has a compact Sig and if it's not pointing exactly down he has had to pull the mags out. My main problem in reloads is getting a hold of the new mag quickly and correctly.

The instructor had 2 of these moving targets on the pvc pole. I shot them both in half. We cobbled them back together and I shot one apart again. I was glad someone else broke the last one, it was getting embarrassing.

Lol I bet. That's why they're pvc and cardboard

I don't know on the mags. The Wilson combat and chip McCormack (sp) work well but I won't dirty them. So I bought these off of eBay as a 5piece set. Just some stainless cheap mags to abuse.

So ever since I bought the dakota, it hasn't taken fuel right.. bout a half gallon at a time then it clicks off (or sometimes shoots out all over the ground then clicks off)

I've had the tank down and went all through the vent lines and it didn't help much so I took it to my mechanic to get a second set of eyes on it.. He is thinking it might be the check valve on the filler neck going into the tank, which he said the only way to fix is going to be to get a new tank...

Ssooooo...... what would happen if...... we just stuck a rod down in there and busted off the check valve.. would it throw an evap code?

I'm working a 20 & 10 shift, and staying in camp, so I'm about 30 seconds from the shop. First days off starts the eleventh.

I don't mind the evening shift. I get to sleep as much as I need, and nobody bothers us after 8

Farmboy, I would pull the tank and check the ball to see if it is ok. It is supposed to come up and seal the filler so it doesn't blow back. On our trucks the ball is in the filler, not the tank. I also saw that the large tank vent (goes back to the filler) is down into the tank a long ways, I cut mine off and can top off the tank better and get more in. It sounds like your check ball is in the tank and not the filler?

Since the ball is supposed to keep it from blowing back, I think you could knock it out if you want. It should fill faster, but when it gets full it may still blow back even worse. It shouldn't throw an evap code as it has nothing to do with the actual venting of the tank.

so a 1/2" drill bit to the top of the tank will probably throw an evap code??? 8)

I am just tired of it taking 20 minutes to fill it up.. At least its not like my 1st gen, it only takes 16 gallon to fill it..

Yup, because the tank isn't sealed then. Kinda like leaving the gas cap loose.

My old '77 filled like that, had to go slow when filling, full speed just puked back onto you. Wasn't until I swapped filler necks with one off a CTD truck that I found a cure to that problem. They looked the same, but the vents were bigger on the diesel neck, and in a different location.
Maybe your vent line has collapsed internally, or is somehow plugged.

Another option, take a 1/2" npt hose barb that accepts 1/2" hose, drill and thread that hose barb into your tank, and run the line up above the shutoff ball.

Anybody know if you can swap a tilt column for a non tilt column? I just bought a 92 W250 gasser, and it has a non tilt column, with the cruise stalk. The stalk I busted off, hanging by the wires, and the column is kinda rough. Was gonna look for a column out of a 92-93, hoping for a tilt, but didn't know if I found one with the buttons in the wheel if they'd swap or not.

Finally got my project work beater started. A broken wire to the crank position sensor had me held up for weeks. Big cams and a lightweight flywheel is standard dd equipment right?

Matt, yes it will. I put a tilt, interval wiper, cruise column in my 92 and it had none of them. I had to do some wiring, but the column itself bolted right in.

Jeff, for one of us it is.

Good to know. I don't think the cruise works anyways, but as long as the wipers, lights, and ignition work, good enough to push snow
