'Bout Damn Time

Postby dpuckett » Sat Mar 07, 2009 12:27 pm

After 25 weeks of class, I finally graduated from the Kentucky Horseshoeing School's 22-week farrier Career Track (or some similar BS) program. Got my diploma, passed my live horse, got a 86% on the written test, and had the highest scoring shoe display (ALL handmades) in my class, even with one shoe not passing. I have an apprenticeship lined up with an AFA examiner (he's one of the guy who passes or fails the journeyman test candidates) 3 days a week. From the horses I've seen, good farriers and good mechanics in this area are just about as common as liberals who want to shrink government- they dont hardly exist.

And one more thing-

I'm getting married this October. Not to worry- I'm not like KRB, who has his anniversary the same weekend as SOP- ours is later in the month. We should be at SOP this year, too. It's a tradition, ya know.

Ha! Well double congrats man! Good to see you complete that BS program as you say... I've been reading your talk about it now for a few years and it really is good to see someone with a goal stick to it and see it thru to completion. Good job.

Now for the marriage razzing, let it begin fellas...

I have been married 11 years. It ain't all that bad. Then again my wife did say she wants a 4 door diesel crew cab. Thats right. I picked a good one. ( Im hoping she will read this and give me brownie points ). 8) Congrats on both school and gettin an ole lady. I would be afraid the horses would kick me in the head trying to shoe one. Are you having a big wedding? Mine was small and great. I hate being in front of a group of people.

We have a tentative guest list of around 65-70, figure 10 or so wont make it for one reason or another.

We traded pickups for my last week of class in hopes of saving money on fuel (didnt quite work out that way). She likes driving my pickup, as she sits 18" higher, plus it is quite a bit zippier than her 3.7L V6. She wants to get a CTD of her own eventually, but I cant quite talk her into a 1stGen- she likes the creature comforts of the 2ndGens, but at least she prefers a 12valve.
