I don't know. I bet its 4.5 to 5 thousand pounds. Its got the 365 horse 460 in it. That was the last year of the good heads and high power. They smogged the hell out of them after that. That car was the one that was in the 80's TV show called Jake and the Fat Man. It was the fat mans car in the show. My uncle got it a few years ago and asked me to take good care of it. I was blown away when he gave it to me. I could never had afforded to buy it.

O yes the Diplomat. I bought that for 1400 bucks in 97. It was a mid atlantic estate auction car. Always garaged, 86,000 miles. It is a 88 with a 318. The last time I drove that was on our wedding day. Back in 98. Been in storage ever since. The way I look at it, they are nice and dry, I own them. Why get rid of them? I would kick my ass if I sold my 40 chevy. When I get old I may want to restore it. The Lincoln is a gift from my uncle, I would feel bad if I sold that because my uncle has terminal cancer. The diplomat is worth nothing so there is no sence to sell that either. Basically I save everything.

Well a trannie rebuild on my jeep turned into a complete trannie swap to a NP435, and somehow in the proses I decided to cut out the rusty floor boards and replace them too. This jeep is a wheeler so I wasn't too concerned with how well I smoothed all the welds out. Here's a bunch of pix of the proses.

Here is what is soaking up any extra money and time when I'm home from work. It's an 81 Toyota 4x4 22R, 5spd with custom flat bed. Been working on it for the past year and 2 months. So far it has been converted to run on propane, crossover/high steer, dual transfer cases, new flywheel, new clutch, full floater conversion on rear axle, completely rebuilt front axle (lots of armor), new brake lines, warn 9K winch, custom dash and switch panel, inboarded rear springs (springs are from a 1/2 ton chevy truck), custom front spring mounts with rear toyota springs up front and 37" tires.



Still need to finish wiring, new x-member for dual cases, driveshafts, full hydro steering and exo cage for the front half of truck. As soon as this is done I can go full force on the crew cab project.

x2. i puckered the first few feet waiting for parts to fly, but you salvaged it pretty well. sounds great! did i read somewhere you recently changed clutches? maybe still getting used to it?
