Another point to make, which maybe you would care about if the truck is being used in competiton, is that engine wear is a barely measureable, progressive state that increases over time in any engine, regardless of how good or bad it is is treated. It's not like you wake up one day and suddenly the engine is worn out. But eventually the results are always the same: lower compression, higher oil and fuel consumption, loss of power. The only question is how quickly it occurs.
