Man, I needed to see that one!
That's just awesome a vid like that would even be available after this many years.
That black truck is definitely a shortbed.

Mark.

I thought it looked like a long bed but with the roll bar and tool box, it seemed like a short bed...

If you pause it when the 2-tone 2wd is sliding, and then again when the black truck is sliding, you can really tell it's a shortbed.

I still feel bad for those drivers though. Pretty sweet seeing the dually sliding around there at the end. :D

This begs the following questions:
Where did the trucks in the commercial go?
Did the black truck actually have a Cummins?

I'm pretty sure that's a long bed. Back in 88/89 there was no 3/4 ton diesel that would ride any better. Possibly the f250 with Dana50 ttb. That's pretty cool to see that commercial now.

I've been looking at that commercial 1 dimensionally, that is, that it's a Cummins Dodge commercial.
It's not.
It's a generalized line-up commercial, touting various options, but has an emphasis on the Cummins.

Ya'll are right...I just watched it again on my computer. On my phone I was sure it was a shortbed. My first pickup was a black shortbed 89 with a 3.9L v-6. My brother has it now. It had add-a-leafs front and rear. Talk about a rough ride.

I just watched the video over and over stoping and starting and i don't think the black truck is a diesel, it is fore shure a short bed, I,m with Mark on this one i think they are just showcasing the full sized pickups.
