steady bearing

Postby Remps » Fri May 28, 2010 6:46 pm

Had to replace the steady bearing and a couple u joints, and every 3/4 ton steady bearing I looked at was too small ID. Had to get one for a chev or dodge 1/2 ton. The dodge SB looked beefier, so I got that one. The u joints were 3/4 ton part numbers. Anyone else have this issue?

I had that problem many years ago. The books show a 1 3/8's ID carrier bearing. My truck had a 1 7/16" ID carrier bearing.

I had that problem. Ended up getting one for a 4x4 1 ton. The books at O'Reillys showed one thing but when I went up to a 1 ton truck and 4x4, it was the right size.
