still need vac pump??

when going to hydro boost do i still need to have a functioning vac pump?? my vac pump is shot and was going to head to the boneyard tomorrow for parts for hydro conversion. thanks for the help. just wondering how the hvac will run?
1990 W250 dodge ex cab, LB, work in progress. truck was originally reg cab/lb, ex cab is an add on.fuel pin turned, 30psi, bhaf, straight piped 3", new rear springs with shackle flip, 4" lift front, crossover steering, waiting on piston lp, c/c s/b conversion, turbo upgrade and intercooler install

Newer powerstroke fords have vacuum pumps on the pass fender well. Use one of them with a tank. That should work just to work the insides anyhow.
