Suspension

Postby rrfarm » Sun Oct 09, 2011 12:17 pm

Just removed the front axle from my truck. Anybody know about the bracket that's mounted to the frame that hold the rear shackle. I removed the rubber insert and it has 2 bushings pressed in from both sides do they need to come out if you're replacing the bushings or do the new rubber bushings go inside the steel bushings?

Yes the outer shell will come with the new bushings.

If you get this. You need to take out the outer metal shell.

I just put the summit kit in.

Checked that out looks good but it didn't show the metal bushings just the rubber ones but you say they do come with it.

No.. The summit kit doesn't come with the outer metal pieces. You don't need it with the summit kit. The poly bushings press in, with out any outer metal shell.

The only place that you can get stock style bushings is from a dealer, i think.

Either option you will have to remove the outer metal shell.
