Well since im out at mom an dads i decided to see what shape my donor cab is in. I took the 4" wire wheel to it and its worst then i thought it was.

I dont know what I'm going to do now. I can fix it but its a lot more work then im wanting to get into. Its real soft and you can hear rust crumpling under the metal so looks like it will end up going to the scrap yard too.

Find a good top and weld it on yours. When I did my cab swap, I donated the top of the old one to a young guy that was repainting his truck.

Well ive developed and issue this week and not sure if its the battery or if i have a short somewhere now. Wednesday morning i came out to a dead battery in the truck. I charged it up and got her running that evening it fired up and was charging 14.2 volts. Has done the same thing each night since. If i let it sit over night i end up with a dead battery in the morning. Anyone have any ideas on what would be the most logical thing to go bad and drain the battery?

Have anything plugged into the 12v accessory plug? Do you have juice at the alternator when the key is off indicating a bad switch?

Those 2 things come to mind.

Nothing is plugged into the cigarette lighter and it only comes on with the key. Ill check alternator later i didnt think of that. What gets me is it can sit all day long and fire right up but after it sits 6-7 hours overnight its dead. It sat from 7 am yesterday morning until 11pm and fired right up but was dead this morning.

Well i charged the battery for 7 hours yesterday night and then unhooked the battery from the truck. I put a meter on it this morning and it had 12.4v so i hooked it up and only got a half crank and it was dead. I checked it again and it still read 12.4v. Looks like my 3 year old battery took a dump.
